Brazil & Serbia and Montenegro claim second scalps


Courmayeur, Italy, June 2, 2005 – 2004 World Grand Prix champions Brazil claimed their second victory in as many matches at the second Aosta Volley trophy at the foot of Mont Blanc in Courmayeur, Italy on Thursday after beating Russia in straight sets (25-22, 25-14, 25-8).

Serbia and Montenegro, meanwhile, claimed their second win of the tournament in three matches by beating Germany 3-0 (26-24, 25-22, 25-22). They had earlier beaten Russia but lost to Italy.

The five-team tournament also includes Italy, who have two wins from two matches and concludes on Saturday.

Friday sees Brazil, who currently have a second squad in the USA, take on Serbia and Montenegro, followed by Italy playing Russia. Germany has the bye.
