Last year's World Grand Prix finalists in top form
Courmayeur,
Italy, June 1, 2005 – Defending World Grand Prix
champions and runner's up Brazil and Italy both recorded
convincing victories at the second Aosta Volley trophy at the foot of Mont
Blanc in Courmayeur, Italy on Wednesday.

Brazil, who beat Italy in last year's World Grand Prix
final, showed good early season form in their first
match of the tournament, beating last year's World Grand Prix
finalists Germany 3-1 (25-18, 18-25, 25-23, 25-20).
Italy, meanwhile, were also in action and after beating Germany
3-1 (25-23, 21-25, 25-17, 25-15) on Tuesday, they
completed a 3-1 (25-21, 25-20, 21-25, 26-24) over Serbia and Montenegro. Russia,
who have a new coach Gianni Caprara,
had the bye.

Thursday sees Germany take on Serbia and Montenegro,
followed by Brazil play Russia. Italy has the bye. |
