Match Descriptive

Japan beat Italy 3-2 (23-25, 16-25, 25-21, 26-24, 15-10) - duration 2.08
25-Jul, start time: 21.07, end time: 23.15 - Attendance: 2.750
First Japanese win in the World Grand Prix 2003
For the third time Italy got beaten at the tie-break. The same thing happened when it played versus Cuba: the World champions won the first two sets when they played against Japan, but Italy couldn't close the match winning and it was subdued by the return of the opposing players, who seemed to be inferior during the most part of the match, but calm and more convincing later.
About Italy, very good the performing of Nadia Centoni, but the 24 points she scored weren't enough to win. About the Japanese players, who are, anyway, eliminated from the match, they lived the great satisfaction to win the Italian players.
Very good the little Takeshita and the massive attacker Oyanna.
