Korean captain Kwang-Hee Choi said: "Russia today were very strong on the court and we failed in our attempts to react."

Russian captain Evguenia Aramonova declared: "We were well concentrated today, we knew we were facing a strong team."

Cheol-Yong Kim, the Korean coach, said: "In the preliminary round we did not fear anybody. This defeat does not put the possibility of succeeding at the Grand Prix at risk.
