The Netherlands - Angelo Frigoni

Angelo Frigoni took over as head coach of the Netherlands in 2001, moving from his native Italy, where he served as the assistant coach of the Italian National men's team and then for four years was Head Coach of the Italian national women's team.

Under his command, the Dutch team qualified for the European Championships and building up to and including the 2002 World Championship in Germany, the Dutch team showed that they had become very strong mentally and learned a lot from their new coach.

A ninth place finish in Germany was less than desired for Frigoni and the Volleyball fans from the Netherlands but it had become clear to observers that Frigoni's success with the Italian women's team would be repeated with The Netherlands.

He already achieved his aim for his team to finish in the top five at the 2001 European Championships and now it is left up to him to take the Netherlands into medal contention at the 2003 World Grand Prix.
