GER ensured their entrance into the final of the World Grand Prix 2002 after the victory over THA
GER showed their determination to take this match in the beginning of the 1st set. By their huge blocks and powerful spikes, GER took the lead soon by the score 12:8. THA, however, made use of their teamwork and spirit to get closer to the opponent. With a serve point of captain, Anna Paijinda, THA shortened the margin on the score to 12:14. But GER got the pace immediately through their forceful attack, leading to 24:19. Bouagaa ended the set with an open spike point.

GER continued to control the 2nd set, though they received strong challenge from THA. Using center and right side spike with several soft attacks, GER finished this set at 25:20.

The never give up THA team a good start in the 3rd set, tying the scores at 5:5, 6:6, 7:7and 8:8. On the other hand, GER did not lose their concentration and take back the rhythm to gain the 2nd technical time out at 16:11. Though THA struggled to fight back a set, the determined GER team finally ensured their entrance into the final of the World Grand Prix after getting the victory with the score 25:18.
