GER was so determined, in the contrary, that they fought back to 12:13, with a spike point of Bouagaa. Competitive rallies occurred till the end of the set, until BRA grasped a crucial block point to take the lead at 24:23, and ended the set by Paula's open spike point.

Tied at 6:6 and 10:10, exiting rallies appeared again in the start of the 2nd set. The tactics of both teams are quite similar that two side attacks and back row spikes were their main weapons. GER took the 2nd technical time out by Gruen at 16:15. Tied again at 17:17, 18:18, 20:20, 23:23, GER caught the chance to gain the set at 25:23 with an error of BRA's offence.

Carrying the spirit gained from the 2nd winning set, GER had a good start in the 3rd set, successfully took the lead at 11:3 and 16:7. The blocking of the relative taller GER players was so effective that they kept the margin of the score till the end of the set. GER won the 3rd set at 25:20

Entering into the 4th set, the delighting GER team lost a little bit concentration, giving the chance for BRA to take the lead at 5:0. With this encouragement, BRA found the pace again to take the first technical time out at 16:9. Sassa took two consecutive spike points to lead the score at 21:11. BRA finished this set at 25:12 to maintain the chance to obtain the victory.

GER recovered again in the 5th deciding set, started by 2 right side powerful spikes of Sylvester. Exciting rallies led to the climax of the match with several tie points at 4:4, 5:5, 6:6 and 7:7. With a service error of BRA and a successful giant block, GER took the lead at 10:8. But the young Brazilian team did not give up their determination and came back immediately at 10:11 and 12:14.
