Match Descriptive

U.S.A. beat Thailand 3-1 (25-17, 17-25, 25-21, 25-20) - duration 1:43
20-Jul, start time: 16:32, end time: 18:15 - Attendance: 4,100
Greatest attempt of THA was overcome by solid block of USA 3:1 (17:25, 25:17, 21:25, 20:25)
Thailand entertained the large crowd packing The Mall Nakhon Ratchasima's MCC Hall with their brave fight to take an initial 3-1 lead. The Americans made use of their height advantage to storm back with mighty attacks from Danielle Scott and Heather Bown. After catching the Thais at 3-3, the USA moved ahead to 20-13, thanks to Bown's sharp spikes at the net. Thailand rested their best players and instead fielded those from the bench. The USA clinched the first-set without much effort 25-17. In the second set, both teams came out almost with the same standard, but the Thais turned the giant-killers in this set, with power-hitter Patcharee Saengmuang uncorking fierce spikes and Pluemjitr Thinkhao and Anna Paichinda producing beautiful blocks. Thailand avenged the first-set loss to USA to win the set with the same margin of 25-17. The USA proved their victory in the last year's World Grand Prix was no fluke, with Bown and Scott taking turns finding the gap to win the following two sets 25-21 25-20 and the match.
