RUSSIA DEFEATS JAPAN, 25-13, 25-10, 23-25, 25-19
Russia rallied in the fourth set to beat Japan, 25-13, 25-10, 23-25, 25-19.

The Russians, powered by Evguenia Artamanova, Anastasia Belikova and Elizaveta Tishtchenko, dominated the first set.

Russia kept its momentum in the second set with Ekaterina Gamova and Elena Plotnikova coming up with brilliant plays.

Japan fought back to win the third set, getting the needed points from Miyuki Takahashi, Makiko Horai and Ai Otomo and forcing Russia to commit errors.

Artamonova, Gamova and Elizaveta Tishtchenko joined hands in the Russian's comeback in the fourth set with solid spikes and overpowering blocks.

Artamonova finished with 14 points while Tishtchenko and Plotnikova both had 11 points on attacks.

Takahashi scored 14 points, 11 on attacks and three on serves. Horai had seven attacks and Otomo had four blocks.
