The Chinese national men’s Volleyball team
has a history of about 50 years. It
has partipated in the World
Championship 11 times with a best
finish of seventh, the Olympic Games
once, the 1999 World Cup and the World
League in 1990, 1992, 1993, 1994,
1995, 1996, 1997 and 2002.
In 2001 Mr. Di Anhe was appointed as a
head coach. During the 2002 World
Championship in Argentina the team
obtained more experience from other
top level teams. They will keep on its
previous charactieristics and at the
same time absorb the advanced
technique, tactic and skills from the
other strong teams of the world.
During the 2003 Asian Volleyball
Championship, the new look of the
Chinese men's team steadily rose
through the ranks to their finish
second, qualifying for the World Cup.
Compared to a fourth place finish at
the 2002 edition, it marks a
significant improvement as the younger
players ijn the team gather experience.
The World Cup will be the last focus
for the 2003 for the team as they try
to find the weaknesses and problems of
the youthful side, overcoming them and
solving them to be ready for next
year's qualification tournament for
the 2004 Olympic Games.
