Match Descriptive

Venezuela beat Egypt 3-0 (25-14, 25-22, 25-19) - duration 1:15
30-Sep, start time: 18:05, end time: 19:20 - Attendance: 2,200
Overwhelming Venezuelan victory over Egypt.
During the first set Venezuela demonstrated a clear and tidy performance. Egypt did not really offered much resistance; the Africans made far too many unforced mistakes (10) and simplified Venezuela's game. The South American team did not face many complications to close the first chapter.
The second set started with a much more aggressive Egyptian team. However, thanks to Gustavo Valderrama's performance (the Venezuelan libero had a 100% reception performance) David Suarez players managed to tie the set at 18 points. At the definition stage, the African players' failed, mainly due to lack of experience, and Venezuela eventually won the second chapter.
The tale did not changed during the development of the third set. Venezuela was a clear winner, being regular and efficient. Ernardo Gomez with a 75% attacking efficiency was a fundamental weapon for achieving their goal and closing the last chapter.
Egypt demonstrated a flawed game with low attacking performance. Tomorrow, the Africans will face a very difficult match against Brazil.
At the end of the match the Venezuelan captain and top scorer Ernarndo Gomez, stated that the key to the victory was "that before the match we did not take our victory for granted". Gomez showed himself very motivated to face their next challenge against the USA on their third date on the 15th Men's Volleyball World Championship.
