The Netherlands blew Greece of the court in Salta
The Netherlands opened the Pool F of the World Championship tremendously with a straight sets victory over Greece in the "group of death". The Flying Dutchmen completely overpowered the Greek opponent and took an important victory without dropping a set. The key of the Dutch victory was ther good work in block, the strong attack and the rythm they imposed along the match.
Netherlands started playing a great in the first set. The best player was opposite attacker Richard Schuil. He showed clearly that he is an excellent hitter on the setting of Nico Freriks, who performed a 60% effectiveness. Greece was not clear in service losing seven points in this skill.
At the beginning of the second set, things seemed to be much even than before, but with the experience of the Dutch team, Netherlands was in advantage. The best work for the team was shown by the Dutch Captain Reinder Nummerdor (4 points), Schuil (4 points) and Guido Gortzen (5 points).
Greece still made many mistakes.
In the third set Greece worked much better and they gotthe support of the spectators from Salta. In this set Greeks raised its level because they awoke from their lethargy. They were leading by three points at the middle of the set, but the Greek mistakes and the coolness in the Dutch team took Netherlands to the victiry. The best scorer of the game was Schuil with 16 points.
