After defeating the already eliminated Bulgaria in five sets, Japan won his second match of the 2002 Men's World Championship. The amazing Asians finish at a ninth, while Bulgaria is classified as number 13.

Host Argentina defeated Italy in the last match of the second round Pool G of the 2002 Men's World Championship at the Luna Park Stadium in Buenos Aires. The sensational win over the three times World Champion put the South Americans on the first position in this group. Argentina will play against France in the quarterfinal scheduled for Wednesday in Buenos Aires. Italy meets Brazil in Cordoba.

The South American Champion is now the winner of this group and will meet the loser of Italy versus Argentina in the quarterfinal on Wednesday. Due to the Brazillian victory, Netherlands is out of the event and didn't reach the last eight of a major worldwide event since 1988.
