Men's World Championship 2002 - Press Info

Press Conference

France beat Netherlands 3-0 (26-24, 25-16, 25-16) - duration 1:12
04-Oct, start time: 18:40, end time: 19:52 - Attendance: 2,800
Reinder Nummerdor (Captain NED): "I think we played at the same level as France in the first set. In the second set we lost on a rotation of the setter. Then the French broke our defense. France was superior to us in the second set."

Domique Daquin (Captain FRA): "I'm happy that we played better than in the first round and concentrated all the game. I hope this is only the beginning."

Bert Goedkoop (Head Coach NED): "This defeat is very disappointing for us. In the first round we played in a high level but we couldn't keep the same level today. We started to make errors and the team fell apart. In the second half of the second set, our attackers and setter lost momentum and rhythm and against France you have to play the same level all the game if you want to make a difference."

Philippe Blain (Head Coach FRA): "My team played very well, especially in the second set and then they played better and better. One of the qualities of the team is that their play is aggresive. This victory is just the beginning because if we want to get to the finals, we have to win the other two games"
