The Mozambique women's team achieved their first win at the zone 6 World Champs qualifier on Tuesday

Lusaka, Zambia, October 22, 2013 - Host Zambia claimed their first victory over Swaziland 3-0 (25-10, 25-18, 25-18) on the opening day of the 2014 FIVB Women's World Championship Zone 6 qualification tournament (Pool R) in Lusaka, Zambia on Tuesday.

The first day also featured a straight sets victory for Botswana over Namibia 3-0 (25-9, 25-16, 25-13), while Mozambique fought for two hours to clinch a tough win over Zimbabwe in the day's only tiebreaker match 3-2 (25-18, 25-18, 24-26, 23-25, 15-7).

Zambia entertained their spectators with the first win as their key player Tilabilenji Mvunga came through for his side with his efficient spikes from all the net positions.

Mozambique played the best game of the opening day, rebounding after Zimbabwe came back from 0-2 to 2-2 as they dominated the tiebreaker to win the tough match 3-2.
