World Championship trophy continues to tour Poland

The World Championship trophy has proven a popular attraction across Poland

Warsaw, Poland, February 6, 2015 – The FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship trophy has proven to be a popular attraction as it tours Poland and gives the volleyball-mad nation a chance to see the trophy that Poland captain Michal Winiarski hoisted to the sky last September.

It meant that the whole of Poland was sent into rapturous joy and the tour has continued the feel-good factor into 2015.

The latest stop will be ahead of the Plus Liga match between Cuprum Lubin and BBTS Bielsko-Biala on Saturday evening.

Up till now the trophy has toured schools and volleyball clubs around the country and crowds have flocked to have their photo taken with it wherever it has gone.

Most recently the trophy visited secondary school students in Lower Silesia where 400 people joined deputy mayor Ms. Ewa Figzal at the event that featured volleyball tournaments among the young players.

“As it has previously, the trophy has proven highly popular,” president of the Lower Silesian Association of Volleyball, Miroslaw Wachowiak said. “The chance to see it live is great and means the effect of the World Championship continues to be felt.”
