Italy determined to end on high, says Barbolini

Italy players celebrate their victory over Serbia as they set their sights on fifth place

Serbia coach Zoran Terzic:
"First of all congratulations to the Italian team. Like them, my players are a bit disappointed that we must play for fifth to eight place. For me it's a little strange but we have young players, some have never played in the World Championship before. I expect us to be better in the next game, more motivated, and with more courage than we showed tonight. We played well till the end of the first set, but at the end, we played without courage, without making even one good attack. It was easy for them to block and defend. I cannot be satisfied about this game, but we have another tomorrow and I hope we play better.
(On playing Germany tomorrow) "What can I say? The Germany team are very good, of course. As usual they will play at a 100 per cent. It will be a difficult game for us, but I hope and wish to play our best game tomorrow. This is important for us and I hope the girls realise this."

Serbia captain Jelena Nikolic:
"Today we couldn't show our best, we could not get into the game. There was no game from us today. I wish Italy the best of luck for fifth place."

Italy coach Massimo Barbolini:
"Today I'm happy, I think we played a good match. It's important for us to reach fifth. Today we played a strong team and we played good Volleyball, without making many mistakes. We won a very important match. We started hoping to be playing in the other round, but we have to give our best still and play for a good World Championship.
(On playing Turkey tomorrow) "I think that it will be a difficult match, Turkey have a strong team, and they've played very well. They had two good rounds and today they beat Germany. We know they're strong and we know tomorrow will be a difficult match."

Italy captain Eleonora Lo Bianco:
"It's not been easy to play on (after missing out on a medal chance) but we want to be fifth, so we tried to do our best against a strong team like Serbia, and I think we played a good game."
