Coach Juan Carlos Gala was satisfied with the way his players responded in the key moments
Cuba coach Juan Carlos Gala:
"We knew it would be a tough match because they were in the same situation as us. My players were nervous the whole match but performed at the key moments. We had some problems with our serves before the 20th point in each match, but this is not uncommon for a young team."
Cuba captain Yusidey Frometa:
"They battled us all the way. We had many ups and downs but won the key points at the end of the sets. Even though we were behind most of the time, we overcame that situation. We felt a lot of pressure and everybody in the stands could see it. We were desperate to do good. Our goal is to continue playing this way and hopefully stay in the championship."
Czech Republic coach Jiri Siller:
"Cuba has a young and strong team. Their players played good. No. 14 (Kenia Carcaces) was excellent. We wanted to win but had too many mistakes."
Czech Republic captain Ivana Picholova:
"We tried from the first set to make better blocks. We served well in the first set. It's a pity that we could not force a fifth set."
