The Czech Republic's Sarka Barborkova: always with a smile on the court |
Hamamatsu, Japan, November 3, 2010 – Czech Republic wing-spiker Sarka Barborkova is the kind of player who always maintains a smile whether her team is winning or losing. It is a trait that helps maintain the morale of a team who booked their place in the second round of the 2010 FIVB Women's World Championship on Wednesday.
Her smile was especially visible after her country picked up a shock win over 2009 FIVB World Grand champions Italy on Tuesday. "I feel happy to play Volleyball because I spend my best time (playing) this sport," said Sarka, whose father was a Czech international. "I don’t consider it only work. It is a full life so I have to enjoy it from beginning to end.
"I'm here in the World Championship for the first time in my life and of course it is a good occasion to enjoy without any stress. I do the same at my club Vilsbiburg in Germany where I have played for five years. I enjoy my time with my colleagues there also beside doing other hobbies and I mainly like to watch comedy movies and read books."
