Samba fever in Hamamatsu

Enthusiastic fans from Brazil in Hamamatsu Arena supporting their team

Hamamatsu, Japan, October 30, 2010- Brazil is a unique country; everywhere there are supporters for that brilliant golden color of the shirts, but in Japan the conditions are different because the Volleyball country number 1 in the world plays now in the 2010 FIVB Women’s World Championship as if in home.

In Hamamatsu where pool B of World Championship is played Brazil team is lucky because of the big community of Brazilians living in the city specially in the big factories. Those employers are living for years in the Japanese city famous for the big electric and motor factories with their families and waiting for any chance to proof their loyalty to their country.

“We wait every year for the events that feature Brazil team to come here and enjoy carrying our flag,” Said one of the spectators who came to Hmamatsu Arena with his family to support his team against Czech Republic in the match that ends narrowly towards the Brazilian side after a five setter.

“Brazil players replied positively after the exciting match that showed a big support to the South American country as they spent a long time with them after the match signing the Autographs and taking photos with them.

“We are happy to see those people supporting us this way thousands of miles away from home and we want them to continue this support in the more critical situations in the upcoming matches,” Said Brazil wing spiker Jaquline Carvalho while she was signing for the spectators.
The Samba fever is everywhere in Hamamatsu waiting every moment to support Ze Roberto’s squad in the prestigious FIVB event.
