Barbolini demands more despite Italy win

Middle blocker Simona Gioli (ITA) blocking against Genesis Collazo (PUR)
Italian captain Eleonora Lo Bianco: "It was very important for us to start this World Championship with a good game. We had some difficulty at first, but it's normal in the first games. Now we are ready to start. They are young but very strong. They don't have experience. We are a mix of young and more experienced players.
Italian coach Massimo Barbolini:  "I don't know if we are one of the best teams in the competition. We have to demonstrate this with our play. We committed too many unforced mistakes, but we played better later on. We have to stay focussed on tomorrow's match, which is one of the more important matches for us."
Puerto Rico captain Vilmarie Mojica:
"Today we couldn't play like we were practicing. They played very well at reception, setting and blocking. They played very well with their middles, and it affected us."
Puerto Rico coach Carlos Cardona: "We couldn't stay focussed and concentrated during the game, and we couldn't play well during the key points. They were stronger in attack at the net. We I hope we can do better technically tomorrow."
