Guidetti: Germany must improve attack

German Denise Hanke setting for captain Christianne Furst
 Germany coach Giovanni Guidetti:

I think my team started with a little bit of pressure, but that's normal. As I said yesterday, for many of my players it's their first World Championship. So we wanted to win this match but weren't so free in our game. After, the team understood very well what we had to do. Tomorrow, we must attack better, but I'm very happy with the way the team blocked and defended.

Germany captain Christian Furst:

It was difficult at the start today. They played a lot of combinations, especially in the first part and we had had many problems. Then we found our rhythm so we could get better in the match and we are really happy that we won.

Kazakhstan coach Nelli Chsherbakova:

I want to congratulate the German team for the way they played.

The German team is a young team but they still put on a good performance.

Through this game we learned we are behind the European and world level of volleyball, so when we go back to our country we want to try hard to catch up with the world level.

(Re. Next match vs. Thailand)

All we can do is to prepare better and play better than today.

Thailand and us played before and we lost three times, so we want to do better.

Kazakhstan captain Inna Matveyeva:

We couldn't play as well as expected; we should learn from today 's game and we want to make much improvement tomorrow.

I'm not satisfied with the way I played today.
