Puerto Rico reach Hamamatsu base in good shape

Puerto Rico begin their 2010 FIVB Women's World Championship campaign against Italy on Friday

Hamamatsu, Japan, October 27, 2010 – Puerto Rico have arrived in Hamamatsu ahead of the start of their Pool B campaign at the 2010 FIVB Women's World Championship in Japan.

Carlos Cardona's side will take on the 2009 FIVB Women's World Grand Champions Cup winners Italy in their opening match on Friday, followed by fixtures against Kenya, Czech Republic, world No.1 Brazil and the Netherlands.

"The team is super good," a spokesman for the Puerto Rico squad said. "The girls trained very well and played excellent (Volleyball) in Sendai to prepare for the tournament. The atmosphere here is really good and the motivation of the team is high."

The 2010 FIVB Women's World Championship will run from October 29-November 10.
