Italy win last warm-up, head to Hamamatsu

Italy libero Paola Cardullo returned for the final warm-up match against Toyota Queenseis on Monday

Tokyo, Japan, October 26, 2010 – 2009 FIVB World Grand Champions Cup winners Italy continued their build-up towards the 2010 FIVB Women's World Championship with a straight-set win (25-19, 25-16, 25-22) over Japanese V League side Toyota Queenseis on Monday.

The match featured the return of several Italian stalwarts to the side after minor injuries, including captain Eleonora Lo Bianco, liberos Paola Cardullo and Chiara Arcangeli, and Francesca Piccinini.

Massimo Barbolini's side travelled to Hamamatsu after the match on Tuesday ahead of their opening Pool B match there against Puerto Rico. The Italians will also take on the Netherlands, Kenya, Czech Republic and, last but not least, Brazil, the 2009 FIVB World Grand Prix winners.
