
Destinee Hooker topped the scores for the USA with 17 points |
Londrina, Brazil, October 4, 2010 – 2010 FIVB World Grand Prix winners USA were dealt a 3-1 (25-22, 25-20, 18-25, 25-20) defeat by Brazil last Wednesday in Londrina, Brazil as they concluded their 10-day, four friendly exhibition tour as part of their preparation for the 2010 FIVB Women’s World Championship in Japan from October 29-November 10.
Brazil, which won all four exhibitions on the tour, is currently ranked No. 1 by the FIVB in the world ranking, while the U.S. moved up two spots to No. 2 after claiming the World Grand Prix last month in Ningbo, China.
Destinee Hooker led the Americans with 17 points on 13 kills and four blocks while Foluke Akinradewo chipped in seven kills and a match-high six blocks for 13 points.
Brazil’s Natalia topped the overall scores with 18 points, while Joyce added 15 points including four aces in the victory.
