Lausanne, Switzerland, January 11, 2010 – The Algeria women’s team began preparations for the FIVB Women's World Championship 2010 on Sunday by flying to Lille, France for training.
Algeria, ranked 17th in the world, will stay in the town for 10 days and plan to play four friendly matches against opposition from both the French First Division and the Belgian league.
The 16th FIVB Women's World Championship takes place from October 29 to November 14. Algeria, who will be taking part in their second FIVB Women's World Championships and finished 17th at the 2008 Olympic Games, are grouped with Japan, Serbia, Poland, Costa Rica and Peru.
