Germany coach Giovanni Guidetti:
"Congratulations to the Turkey team. They played a more powerful match than us. We started badly with mistakes we had not made in this tournament until now. But I have to congratulate my team. They tried, and they didn't give up. Turkey had much more energy than us today and they deserved to win."
Germany captain Christiane Furst:
"First, congratulations to the Turkey team. In the first two sets we had no solution but we came back in the latter part of the match. At least we put up a hard fight. We were left disappointed at the end (but) they played better. We're disappointed, but must recover well, we want to play the last match as best we can.
(On the next match against Serbia) "We must recover well, and continue to play well and show that we're a great team."
Turkey coach Mehmet Bedestenlioglu:
"I congratulate both sets of players. We were good for the first two sets, but after that their blocking, serving, and receiving were good. We were able to come back in the last set, and I congratulate my players."
Turkey player Neslihan Darnel:
"First of all, congratulations to the German team. It was an exciting game for us, for everybody. We started well, and made a lot of good plays. But after the second set, we stopped playing and couldn't receive well. Germany then improved. In fifth set we didn't start out well but we didn't give up, and now we're very happy to have won."
Turkey player Seda Tokatlioglu:
"Congratulations to both teams. We started well, but in the third and fourth sets they were good but we're happy to have finished strongly."
