Brazil were very strong - McCutcheon

Thaisa had five blocks among her 14 points in the victory of Brazil over USA

Brazil coach Jose Guimaraes (Zé Roberto):
"I'm happy with the qualification and to win the match with the U.S. Now we have to think about the semifinal against Japan. Our blocks were not so good today. We have to improve."

Brazil captain Fabiana:
"We made some mistakes, but toward the end we were doing quite well. Japan has good speed and defense, so we will have to receive and defend well against them."

USA coach Hugh McCutcheon:
"Brazil was very strong. We were good in some phases but lacked consistency. We need to be a better team. Our bench did a good job today."

USA captain Jennifer Tamas:
"They played a great match. Brazil is really consistent. We have to work harder to be able to play like that. They served aggressively and passed well."
