McCutcheon hails vital win for USA

Coach Hugh McCutcheon praised the defensive effort by his US side against the Netherlands

USA coach Hugh McCutcheon:
"Our team was quite good defensively tonight. We got some transition opportunities and that turned things our way. This win was important on lots of levels after the loss to Italy (on Sunday). It puts us in a good position going into tomorrow's game against Brazil."

USA captain Jennifer Tamas:
"This was a better match for us. We did a good job on our passing and receiving. We have a big game tomorrow and have to be ready."

Netherlands coach Avital Selinger:
"The US deserved to win. They dominated at the net and in defence. We were not able to play our game. We had trouble with the rhythm of our attack and were on the defensive most of the time."

Netherlands captain Manon Flier:
"They did a good job. We didn't play our own game. Our outside hitters played well, but not the rest of our team. I am kind of disappointed by the result."
