Matlak: My players never gave up

The battle between the two top scorers in the match, Yeon-Koung Kim and Malgorzata Glinka-Mogentale, was outstanding

Poland coach Jerzy Matlak:
"We played both the Korea team and our own weaknesses. It is difficult to explain how we won, because Poland made 30 errors to Korea's 16. I think we prevailed because the players didn't give up and this demonstrated their will to win and do well in this tournament."

Poland player Malgorzata Glinka-Mogentale:
"It was a very difficult match for us, especially as we started out so badly. But then we believed we could win and started to play well. This was an important match in the tournament, so I'm happy to have won it.
(On the last time Poland played in such a thriller) "I think in 2005 against Russia in the semifinals of the European Championship. It was a very long game, but finally we won it and got the gold medal.
(On the final set and her battle with Yeon-Koung Kim) "It was like a head-to-head, ace-to-ace battle for us, and all the points were important, but the best was the last one that gave us the victory."

Korea coach Park Sam-Ryong:
"It was a really close game today, but we lost so it's tough. The reason why we lost was because we made many mistakes in receiving."

Korea player Yeon-Koung Kim:
"It was a really close game today, but now I want to forget this game and work on the next one.
(On the battle with Glinka-Mogentale):
"It was really tight in the last set and each team won a point and the other responded, so it was hard emotionally for both of us. I admire Glinka-Mogentale and the fact that she won."
