Rome, Italy, October 5, 2010 - Germany v Czech Republic press conference
Ondrej Hudecek, Czech Republic Captain: “Our worst game of the tournament. It was bad in all parts of the game. We couldn’t stop the German attack. Maybe it was because we lost a lot of energy in our five-set match against Brazil. But really they played better than us in all departments of the game.”
Bjorn Andrae, Germany Captain: “I am really happy with the result. We concentrated in our tactics and it was really positive. We fought for every point and the Czechs were a little tired, I think. But I am really proud of my team and I hope we can continue playing this way.”
About the match against Brazil:
“Everything is open for us. We can play for fifth place, so we can go out and play with no pressure. I hope everyone can play its best game and let’s see what is going to happen.”
Jan Sbovoda, Coach of Czech Republic: “Congratulations to Germany. They played well since the beginning and they were the better team.”
Raul Lozano, Coach of Germany: “I am very satisfied for the victory and not only for the victory but also because we played well. We have played well against a great team that has been playing very well in the championship. Today their level was not the same probably due to the match against Brazil and they paid the price of the five sets.”
About the match against Brazil:
“It is going to be a very tough game against one of the best teams in history and against a great coach like Bernardo. But I also think that when we play good we are tough to beat. I have no problems to play against Brazil and if we eliminate the respect we can play with them. On the field we are 12 against 12 or 7 against 7 and we showed today the strength of our group as we made changes and the level stayed the same.”
