'Winning was important to us' - Weber

Argentina came together to defeat Spain and advance to the ninth-place match to be held on Saturday in Florence.

Spain captain Julian Gracia Torres: "Congratulations to Argentina. The match was difficult for both teams. We didn’t play well enough to win."

Argentina captain Rodrigo Quiroga: "I agree with Julian. It was not a beautiful match to play. For us it was an important win, and we know that tomorrow will be a difficult match."

Spain coach Julio Velasco: "Congratulations to Argentina. We were not concentrated enough during the match and that was one of the main problems. Tomorrow it will be a difficult match as well in order to find concentration again. For me it’s always difficult playing against Argentina, above all when it’s the moment of the National anthems (Velasco is from Argentina). It’s the moment of memories for me. I don’t like playing against Argentina and Italy for this reason, but this is my job now."

Argentina coach Javier Weber: "For us winning tonight was very important. There were many mistakes from both sides and it was not a beautiful win for this reason. The level of the match sometimes was high sometimes low, but for us winning was the most important thing."
