Dutch showed great professionalism - Flier

Netherlands coach Avital Sellinger and captain Manon Flier in the press conference

The Netherlands coach Avital Selinger:
“We played very well, very few unforced errors, maybe 4 or 5 in three sets. That’s great. The team played together in very good rhythm. We always play to our best ability, regardless of the opponent. Players should do their best, and not count points. The players have to try to play the moment, not the future. That’s what I teach them, and that’s what I try to do, in order to execute at the highest level.”

The Netherlands captain Manon Flier:
“I wasn’t thinking about the points really. We started really well. We played professionally, and we were really determined to finish this group well. You are always trying to get the highest score. I just trust our staff with the counting. I think our team showed great professionalism today. We are on the right track. We have to stay focused and keep the rhythm we are playing in. We have to do the same like we did the last days.”

Puerto Rico coach Carlos Cardona:
“I wanted to finish this competition in a different way, but it did not happen. We had problems with our passes, and we tried different alternatives that also didn’t work. We had too many errors. There is no doubt that we really have to try harder in our next competitions. We have to improve every aspect of our game in order to do better in future competitions.”

Puerto Rico captain Vilmarie Mojica:
“It’s very difficult to play with teams that are very tall. We had a lot of problems with reception. We could not play like we wanted to play. We tried to finish hard, but this time we couldn’t do it.”
