Cameroon libero impresses Russia coach

Alain Fossi Kamto of Cameroon excelled defensively

Cameroon captain Malloum Abbas El Hadj: We wanted to score as many points as possible but our team didn’t play as well as we can. We want to thanks the fans for their support during the match and we will do our best to give them a good game tomorrow.

Russia captain Sergey Makarov: We played a good match with good reception and serves but I hope we can play better in our next match.

Cameroon coach Peter Nonnenbroich: “I am satisfied with my team despite the 3-0 result which was normal. The start was very difficult for the players in their first World Championship and they played with too much respect for the opponent in the first set. But then we played better and better and tomorrow will be a different match against another opponent and let’s see how we can play.”

Russia coach Daniele Bagnoli: “Cameroon improved after the first set and it was good for us to overcome the difficulties. We have to congratulate the libero of Cameroon (Alain Fossi Kamto) who played exceptional defence. We really didn’t expect that kind of game. I think both coaches are satisfied even though we are far away from where we expect to be but that’s normal when you start a championship.”
