We played a great match - Bernardo Rezende

A total of 5,650 fans watch Brazil defeat Poland to open Pool N during the second round of the 2010 FIVB Men's Wold Championship

Brazil Captain Giba: "This match was very important because of our previous defeat against Cuba. We played very well from a tactical point of view and now we have to forget about this match and keep focused on the next one."

Poland Captain Pawel Zagumny: "We knew that against a team like Brazil, winning wouldn’t have been easy. We didn’t start the match very well, and then when Brazil took the lead, there wasn’t much we could do. Now we have to forget about this match and go on."

Brazil Head Coach Bernardo Rezende: "We played a great match. We knew exactly what to do against Poland. We made few mistakes, but we are just a great team and we played consisently. Poland was the first in its pool, and I’m sure they will try their upmost to win the next match."

Poland Head Coach Daniel Castellani: "Congratulations to the Brazilians that deserved to win this match. Brazil made few mistakes and the key of the match was the service that for us was difficult to receive. Bernardo’s team had always a 4/5-point lead and for us it was not easy to pick up points and narrow the gap. From a technical point of view, Brazil is far superior than us, but now we have to forget about the match and be prepared to spearhead Bulgaria."
