Tunisia captain Ben Slimen: "I’m very happy to have the possibility to play against Brazil, because they are the best players in the world and all Volleyball players would like to play with them. We tried to do our best, but there is still a lot to do to win, and we want to improve for the next matches against Cuba and Spain."
Brazil captain Giba: "It’s a good thing to win the first match, expecially changing a lot of players during the game. It’s so important that everyone is ready for the next matches, because the World Championship is so long and the difficulties will arrive at the end."
Tunisia coach Fethi Mkaouar: "I’m not surprised at the result, we knew that we would have big difficulties against Brazil but we are coming here to learn from them, not to win. I’m very proud of the performance of my team, particularly in the second set. I hope we’ll play better in the next matches against Cuba and Spain."
Brazil coach Bernardo Rezende: "Congratulations to Tunisia for the spirit of their game. In the second set they were a competitive opponent. I wish them good luck for the future, expecially because the team is so young. Our side was ok, but we failed with some blocks and serves, which we have to improve for the next matches."
About setter Marlon missing the game: "We are worried about Marlon, his condition became worse during the night for his intestinal problems. He has been visited in Modena by a specialist. We asked the FIVB if we could substitute him but they said it’s impossible given the rules of the competition. We hope to have him back perhaps for the third phase. But I would clarify that the most important thing for us is Marlon's health, not his recovering time."
