Coach of Russia sees improvement in his team’s performance

Russian Sergey Grankin gets credit from teammate Taras Khtey during the match against Australia

Thomas Edgar (Player of AUS): “Russia had a better attack but in the third set we put some pressure and could prevail. The fourth set was again for Russia but we showed that we can play with them.”

Maxim Mikhaylov (Player of RUS): “We performed very well in the first two sets but in the third we made many mistakes. I hope we can improve and learn from those errors.”

Russell Borgeaud (Coach of AUS): “Russia of course is one of the best teams in the world and we have a very young team. I gave my players the freedom to play and be aggressive. What happened today was a good lesson for our team.”

Daniele Bagnoli (Coach of RUS): “My team played better than yesterday but we had a moment when we committed seven errors with our serves which is too much. To play a fourth set actually can be of benefit because the players had the chance to play together and prepare for the upcoming matches. We are qualified and tomorrow I have to be patient with my players.”
