Tunisia lead with second victory

Tunis, Tunisia, July 29, 2005 - Hosts Tunisia continued their victory rhythm with their second win of the 2006 Men's World Championship African Pool C second round tournament with a straight sets victory over South Africa on the second day to close in on a World Championship spot. In Friday's other match, Algeria had an exciting victory over their neighbors, Morocco in a five setter.

Tunisia took their match seriously against South Africa, who had pulled off a big surprise on the first day beating Algeria so they started with their main line up as their stars Noureddine Hfaiedh and Hosni Karamosly controlled the net action to lead from the start comfortably to win the match in straight sets 25-13, 25- 17, 25-18. The organizers used also the high performance of their experienced centre Chaker Ghazal in the block against the South African big gun Freedom Chiya.

In the best match of the competition Algeria had a difficult victory, their first of the tournament, over Morocco after the first tie breaker in the tournament 25-20, 20-25, 23-25, 25-19, 16-14. The Algerian star Ali Kerboua played a big role in this victory with his strong spikes, while Zakaria Bairi was the best player in the loser's team.
