Estonia upset Morocco in epic tiebreaker

 Izmir, Turkey, August 29, 2013 – Estonia saved three match points in the fourth set to win their grueling encounter against Morocco 3-2 (22-25, 25-22, 28-30, 26-24, 15-12) in 124 minutes of thrilling performance in the first match of the classification 17 to 20 tournament of FIVB Men's U21 World Championship at Ataturk Hall in Izmir, Turkey on Thursday.

 Morocco led twice in sets 1-0 and 2-1 as Estonia came back in the fourth set saving three set points before they won the tiebreak to collect 2 points at the beginning of the round robin tournament, while Morocco gained one point.

 Estonia opposite spiker Renee Teppan was a key factor in the victory with his 22 points contributed during the match, coming as the match scorer, followed by Taavet Leppik who contributed 15 for his team.

Morocco's outside hitter Zouhair El Graoui led the match scorers with impressive 34 points making over the best scoring performance in the competition so far, followed by Saad Elbekri 14 points.

 The first set showed early tight challenge as it went point by point with both teams using service as a pressure weapon against the other. The result went point by point till the draw 22-22 before Morocco settled the set to their side with a spike from their strong hitter Zouhair El Graoui.

 In the second set Estonia took the upper hand as their opposite Renee Teppan sent his sharp hits to give his team the lead as they ties the score to 1-1 after they on the second set in the same score 25-22.

 Both third and fourth sets were very tight again as both teams led throughout the sets, while both teams depend on their wing spikers to score the points as Morocco won the third set and then Estonia saved three match points before they won the fourth set to extend the match to tiebreak.

 In the tiebreak Estonia had an early lead 8-4 at the court turn. They used the counter attacks well to win 15-12 and the match 3-2.
