We had our chance, but we could not use it - coach Di Zhang

China missed three opportunities to win the fourth set

Ankara, Turkey, August 28, 2013 – China are disappointed to have missed their chances against the strong Argentine team, while the South Americans are pleased to have beaten their opponents by 3-1 (25-19, 25-23, 23-25, 29-27) in their round-of-16 game at the FIVB Volleyball Men's U21 World Championship in Ankara.  This is what the coaches and the captains of the two teams had to say after the match.

Di Zhang, coach of China: “We had our chance today, but we could not use it and we could not win. The players tried hard, but we could not do it. We will prepare better for the next match.”

Tianyi Mao, captain of China: “It was a good match and a good play. Argentina’s players know well how to attack and it was one of their strong points. I think Argentina are a very good team.”

Fabian Muraco, coach of Argentina: “I am very happy and all my players are very happy. China are a very strong, excellent team. We were very nervous in the beginning of the match, but all my players did what they had to do on the court and this paved our way to the quarterfinals.”

Fernando Arpajou, captain of Argentina: “I am very happy with the result of this match. Now we are waiting to find out our next opponent. Both Serbia and Italy are strong teams. We will do our best in the quarterfinals.”
