We did what we had to do and this made winning easier for us – coach Jothish

Coaches Gaber Abouzeid and T.C. Jothish shake hands before the match

Ankara, Turkey, August 25, 2013 – India turned things around against Egypt for the final 3-1 (22-25, 25-21, 25-16, 25-16) when their players started doing what they had to do at the FIVB Volleyball Men's U21 World Championship Pool A fixture in Ankara, according to the Indian coach and captain.  Their Egyptian counterparts admitted that the opponents played better than them in this match.

Gaber Abouzeid, coach of Egypt: “We did not have luck today in this game.  The Indian team were better than us. Their spikers were effective. My team were very tired and our spirit was not high. Tomorrow, we hope to win in order to become third in the pool.”

Islam Abdelkader, captain of Egypt: “We did not have luck today. The Indian team had good tactics, while we had problems with serving. Our defence was not good today either.”

T.C. Jothish, coach of India: “We were not good at the beginning of the match. Later we started to do what we had to do and it became easier for us to win the match. We are going to play against China tomorrow. It is a very important match for us. China are a more experienced team than us. We need to play better tomorrow.”

Lavmeet Katariya, captain of India: “We lost the first set because we did not manage to play well. But we raised our level and did what our coach told us to on the court. We are very happy for having our second win.”
