FIVB Volleyball Girls' U18 World Championship

"I am very proud of my team," says Canada coach

Rwanda's Aimable Mutuyimana speaks with young writers during post match interview

Canada coach David Gordon Preston:

"I am very proud of my team because I made a lot of line up changes today. When the coach does this it really affects the rhythm of the team. However, my players got back into that hythm. They were able to finish the sets with a lot of strength. I tried to make a lot of substitutions into the game but we were successful despite that."

Canada captain Milan Nikic:

"I think definitely something was taken away in the match but it was a test for us to see how we closed the sets and dropped when we wanted to. Games were close which was exciting and gave us a proud feeling. We should keep our excitement to play good matches."

Rwanda coach Paul Bitok:

"We were able to win the match. We lost sets in the last few points. This happens because we are not experienced enough. However, I believe we are improving ourself. I believe we are pulling up our play. We will meet with one of the strongest team in the championship. Even if we can't qualify to the next group we will do our best."

Rwanda captain Aimable Mututimana:

"We are improving our performance than the other games. Today the match was more difficult than the other games. We weren't disciplined enough in the court. We could put effort together. Tomorrow I believe we will be better and we all play together. However, our system is getting day by day and we are improving ourself. We gained a great experience here in Turkey. We will play against Serbia. They are strong team but we will try to put a pressure upon them."
