We did not expect to win this match that easily - coach Hizal

We played very well and also did not let them play, coach Hizal said

Ankara, Turkey, August 22, 2013 – Turkey’s coach Umit Hizal admitted that he did not expect the game against India to be so easy.  In everybody’s opinion, the home team played much better than their opponents and deservedly won by 3-0 (25-16, 25-17, 25-17).  Here are the statements of the coaches and the captains after the match.

T.C. Jothish, coach of India: “Turkey played great today. They were much better than us. They are a very experienced team. We try to gain experience day by day. So we did not have the chance to win this match.”

Lavmeet Katariya, captain of India: “We did not play well and Turkey played very well today. I hope we will be better in our next pool matches.”

Umit Hizal, coach of Turkey: “We did not expect to win this match that easily. We thought that India would be tougher, but they were not. We played very well and also did not let them play. We are very happy for winning the first match of the championship.”

Baturalp Burak Gungor, captain of Turkey: “The first matches of the championships are important. We really wanted to win this match. We made a good start and we need to keep our motivation and try to be better and better everyday.”
