Favoritos destacan en la competición del Campeonato Africano de Naciones


Los anfitriones y campeones defensores Túnez ganaron su partido contra Sierra Leona en sets corridos

Tunisia, Túnez, 3 de marzo de 2013 - Los anfitriones y campeones defensores Túnez, así como Egipto, Marruecos y Ruanda, han conseguido victorias en la jornada inaugural del Campeonato Africano de Naciones Junior Masculino, celebrado en Sidi Boussaid Hall, en Túnez.

Túnez se llevó una fácil victoria en sets corridos sobre Sierra Leona (25-11, 25-5, 25-14) en el Grupo A, mientras que Ruanda pasó por encima de Congo Brazzaville 3-1 (25-16, 25-16, 22-25, 25-15) en el mejor de los partidos del día de apertura.

En el Grupo B, Egipto - finalista el año pasado- aseguró su victoria sobre RD Congo 3-0 (25-17, 25-14, 25-13) mientras que Marruecos frustró los intentos de Sudáfrica ganándole 3-0 (25-18, 25 - 15, 25-23)

El acto de inauguración contó con la presencia del Presidente de la CAVB, Dr. Amr Elwani, vicepresidente de la CAVB y Presidente del Comité Organizador Local Munir Benslimane, además de los miembros de la Comisión de Control.

El Campeonato Africano de Naciones es un evento clasificatorio para el Campeonato Mundial Junior Masculino de la FIVB, a celebrarse en Turquía a finales de este año. Los cuatro mejores equipos en Túnez se les garantiza un boleto al Campeonato Mundial en Turquía.
