Algiers, Algeria, 27 February, 2013 – Algeria’s men’s under-21 team are hoping to secure a place at the FIVB under-21 World Championship when they compete at the African Nations Junior Championship.
Tunisia’s capital Tunis hosts the tournament from March 3-9 and it is the African qualifier for the U21 World Championship that takes place in Turkey from August 22-September 1.
The team headed by head coach Malek Radji and his assistant Hammouche Mourad will be one of the favourites to win the cup and secure one of the four African places in Turkey.
"We will work hard to win this event to secure one of four qualifying spots for Africa at the world championship,” Radji said. “I think we can achieve that goal."
Hosts Tunisia are the defending champions and are likely to be pushed hard by Algeria as well as their fellow north Africans, Egypt.
