Positive experience for Egypt and Finland


Egypt had a very solid play against Finland in second and third sets. However the Finnish team closed stronger in the fourth.

Mexicali, Mexico, July 7 2013 - The FIVB Boys' U19 World Championship was a good experience for many teams. The impression for captains and coaches of Finland and Egypt was positive in many aspects beyond the match.  


Perti Honkanen, coach of Finland: "It is nice to win the last match. I am very happy. We played very well disciplined today. We made less mistakes. This tournament was a wonderful experience and I hope that this is not my last time to be here".


Sakari Mäkinen, captain of Finland: "We mad some mistakes, but It was good to win. This tournament was a remarkable experience and very satisfactory for all of us." 


Ahmed Saleh, captain of Egypt: "Finland played very well today. Second set was good for us, but We could not close in the third as we wanted. I want to thank the people of Mexico for their support."


Mohamed Ellakany, coach of Egypt: "Finishing in twelfth place is not so bad. This was the first time a tournament had a 20 teams competition format and we advanced to the second round among the best 16. Thanks to all of you for your support and help during this tournament."
