Japan finish in 17th place

The Asian squad closed with three victories in a row.

Mexicali, Mexico, July 5 2013 - Japan closed their participation with a victory over Algeria in straight sets and finished in the 17th place.  However it was difficult for the team coached by Hiroshi Honda, who recognized that had to work harder with the blocking game.

Honda also remarked that He would like to finish in a better position in the final classification, but looks forward to improve in the middle and long term with this group of players.

Hiroshi Honda, coach of Japan: "It was a very tough match to win. Algeria played with very good offense. The cause of our victory is that we had a very good block in the third set".

Sidi Mohammed Ghomari, coach of Algeria: "Congratulations for Japan. They played a very good set, with very good technique. We played a very good second match but could not close it because of the lack of experience of or players and had problems with our libber and reception."

Salem Walid Ait, captain of Algeria: "Congratulations to Japan for this victory. They deserve it. We played a good second set, but lost concentration in the end."

Tsubasa Hisahara, captain of Japan: "We are glad to win this match in straight sets and to close our last match with a victory."
