Poles are confident about chances against China

Tijuana, Mexico, July 5, 2013 – The victory in straight sets of Poland over France fueled the attitude of the European vice champions who next play China in the semifinals.

Both captain Bartosz Bucko and coach Weislaw Czaja share the idea they can clear the hurdle represented by the Asian vice champions and then play for the title of the FIVB Boys’ U19 World Championship

Bartosz Bucko, captain of Poland: “I feel great and everybody is happy in our team with this victory and the pass to the semifinals. Our team has been improving playing better and better match by match. I think we can beat China and why not, win the tournament. I hope we can play even better against China with fewer mistakes.”

Thomas Nevot, captain of France: “We didn’t play as we expected. We were hoping to have a good match like the day before and advance to the semifinals. We feel very sad about it but at the same time the competition has not finished yet and we can conclude in fifth place which is not bad.”

Weislaw Czaja, coach of Poland: “I want to congratulate all the players on my team for the match they played today against a good team like France. We are going to play a difficult match against China in the semifinals but we are prepared for it. Our goal is to win one of the medals.”

Slimane Belmadi, coach of France: “Poland played more consistent than us. We had up and downs today. For some moments we played better and the other not so better. We made many mistakes in the key moments of the sets.”
