We faced many challenges against Mexico: Ellakany

Team Egypt celebrate after a hard four sets against Mexico.

Mexicali, Mexico, July 5 2013 - Egyptian coach Mohamed Ellakany stated that his team had to fight hard not only against a team. Spectators at Mexicali State Auditorium were also their rivals.

Also some injuries suffered by his starting setter were also a challenge in one of his must difficult wins at this tournament.

Mohamed Ellakany, coach of Egypt: "Thanks god we won this match. Before it I discussed with the players and the delegation how important was this match for us. We played against the host team and their spectators and before our last match our setter suffered a sprained ankle."

Mauricio Lopez, captain of Mexico: "We started playing hard. Egypt is a good team with a very high level. We made some technical adjustments in the first set to win it, but in the last one We were unable to close successfully".

Ahmed Saleh, captain of Egypt: "Mexico is a nice team. Had a good blocking game and a good win in the first set. We could make a comeback in second and third but the fourth was difficult and could be decided for any of us."

Oscar Licea, coach of Mexico: "Congratulations to Egypt. Unfortunately things didn't worked well. The boys have played and worked hard. They have done their best and I am very convinced, but most of our matches have been decided by a defensive error or a mistake. We must go on."
