FIVB Volleyball Girls' U18 World Championship

We really needed this victory: Ghomari

Algeria and Rwanda played a rematch of the African championship. But this time, the Algerians got the revenge.

Mexicali, Mexico, July 4 2013 - Algerian coach Sidi Mohammed Ghomari said that his team played every fundamental with a very solid tactical plan that contributed to achieve their first victory at FIVB Boys' U19 World Championship.

On the other side, Jean Marie Vianney of Rwanda, mentioned that despite a previous victory at the African Championship a few months before, things were different in Mexicali.

Sidi Mohammed Ghomari, coach of Algeria: "This was a victory that We really needed. The team played more aggressively. Probably Rwanda struggled in terms of adaptation because they played the first phase in Tijuana. We were already adapted to Mexicali. I appreciate the work of my players and probably and are ready to play against Tunisia tomorrow."

Jean Marie Vianney, coach of Rwanda: "Congratulations to Algeria. They played a very good match. Improved a lot of things. They showed a good block and defense and made fewer mistakes. We made more mistakes and failed in reception and failed to block."

Salem Walid Ait, captain of Algeria: "We are glad for winning this match. It is our first victory at this championship and gave us a special motivation for our next match."

Jacques Iradukunda, captain of Rwanda: "This was a very difficult match. We had played against them before at the African championship, but they played better tonight. They looked so strong and competitive, congratulations to Algeria".
